CAT | Park Mountain
Look at all that new snow out there. Must be a foot or two fresh up in the mountains.
Who’s up for a ride on Sunday?
Current Riders: Brad, Jason, Jarrod, Brendon
Where: Nelson Mountain
Meet: TBA
Another great day! Although the day started off with a few issues (truck stuck on the road up, and another with sled issues 10 mins into the day), the rest of the day turned out really good. It was pretty much a repeat of the last sunday with a few clouds and low vis. first thing, but once we got up to the main riding area on the Nelson mountain area the sky opened up to full sun for the full day. Once again, couldn’t ask for a better day. Unfortunately we also had another sled suffer some problems with a cracked weld in the steering column.
Here is some pics, with more to follow once they are sent over (Hint to those who are taking their time with the pics!)
Look at all that new snow out there! Forecast is still calling for more right up until Saturday.
All the tracks we made last weekend should be all covered up ready for another beating.
Update: It’s still snowing up in the mountains. Should be good for Sunday. Bill G. is back, working on trying to get him to come for the ride as well. Hey Brad, give him a shout and a kick in the butt to get the sled fired up and join us for the day.
Who’s all coming?
Current Riders: Rob, Kurt, Mike, Brad, Jason, Jarrod, Dean, Chris, Colin, Brendon
Where: Park/Nelson
Meet: 7:00 am Sunday @ 7/11 on Hwy. 6
What a day! Absolutely awesome today!
After meeting up with near a dozen trucks and 18-20 sleds at 7-11 this morning we thought we were in for an extremely huge group today. Even though everyone seemed to know one another we all split up into smaller groups once we hit the mountain. The convoy of vehicles all went out to Park/Nelson, and our group unloaded up the Taylor Creek road just past the logging sites.
The trail was nicely groomed on the way up. We went out the back access road to get to the Park side. Once we got off the main road and into the riding areas there was a ton of fresh untouched snow (even though there was tracks from the previous days).
The sun was out all day and we were above the clouds making for the best riding day this year so far! It was hard to take a break for lunch. Brad struggled a bit due to being tired - stop staying up so late
Topping the day off was a smooth groomed trail back from the Park cabin to the trucks – can’t ask for a better was to end the day actually.
Sundays ride is now confirmed!

Where: Park/Nelson
Meet: 7:30 (Sharp) at 7/11 on Hwy. 6
