Had a great day in the powder out in the monashees. The sun was out the whole day and we had endless untouched powder to play in. After a long day of riding we got to relax a bit in the cabin while warming up before heading home. Unfortunately we had a trailer with a flat tire that added some extra time onto the day but we all made it back.
Riders: Rob, Bill, Kurt, Mike and Dave from Williams Lake
Look at all that new snow! Avalanche center reports high risk of avalanches this weekend, so stay clear of all slopes susceptable to slides. Better just to stick with the flats, and in the trees.
Location: Park/ Nelson
Meet: 7/11 on hwy 6 @ 7 am
Riders: Jason/ Brad/ Brendan/ Jarrod/ maybe 2 others.
Update provided by Brad:
It was really foggy and a lot of rain at the bottom of the hill. There was at least one inch of ice on the main road and we all didn’t make it to the booth. We took a different route than usual, just past the booth down the road a bit. We all had a pretty good time but could not see very well all day. Had some minor problems at the end of the day, but we all got home in one piece.
Look at all that new snow out there. Must be a foot or two fresh up in the mountains.
Who’s up for a ride on Sunday?
Current Riders: Brad, Jason, Jarrod, Brendon
Where: Nelson Mountain
Meet: TBA
Another great day! Although the day started off with a few issues (truck stuck on the road up, and another with sled issues 10 mins into the day), the rest of the day turned out really good. It was pretty much a repeat of the last sunday with a few clouds and low vis. first thing, but once we got up to the main riding area on the Nelson mountain area the sky opened up to full sun for the full day. Once again, couldn’t ask for a better day. Unfortunately we also had another sled suffer some problems with a cracked weld in the steering column.
Here is some pics, with more to follow once they are sent over (Hint to those who are taking their time with the pics!)
