We had an awesome ride at Hunters today. Snow was great with lots of powder, most of the meadows were all untouched, and the visibility was quite good up until about 2pm when some freezing rain blew in. The measuring stick at the main chalet only shows 3′ however it sure seems deeper than that when you step off the sled.
We unloaded at about 8km up the Ashton Road. Quite a few people went a bit farther up but the snow was fairly wet and when packed it become rediculously slippery. Not sure what happened but there was a truck that must have slipped off the road and got himself stuck pretty bad. Fortunately there was a lot of people there to help out.
Ended up only being 4 riders today however we met up with a few others up at the main chalet.
Not many pictures to show.

Hunters Range – Sunday Nov. 15th
Update from the group who went Sunday:
(Rob, Brian, Duell, Dave S., Dave B., Jason, Chris)
Turned out the snow was quite good once we got up to about 5500′. We unloaded about 6km and drove the sleds on a road hardly covered with enough snow for the first 3 or 4 km (terrible for the plastic skiis – but oh well). Visibility was awful with almost a freezing rain coming down which made a real mess of the goggles. Looking past the visibility problem the riding was really good in at least 3 – 4 feet of powder.
Todays ride proved comical with Chris’ runaway, and painful for Brian’s trailing arm. Hopefully a new trailing arm will be easily found to get Brian up and at it again soon.
Here is some pictures that were taken during the ride:
